BCS announces new Assistant Superintendent

A new Assistant Superintendent is set to start at the beginning of July after the Board voted for approval on Monday, but he’ll still be working in the high school as well in Bremen.

The Bremen City Schools Board of Education announced today that Dr. Tim Huff will be taking over as the next Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment.

He’ll begin in the new role on July 1.

He’s taking over the role from Assistant Superintendent Zoe Evans, who is retiring this year. His role will be to oversee areas of instructional programming, professional development, and curriculum alignment, as well as working with human resources and strategic planning.

He’ll still remain the Principal for the 2025-26 school year while also serving in the Central Office role.

The district expects to post a vacancy for that role during the upcoming 2026 calendar year to have someone in place for the 2026-27 school year at Bremen High School.

“Dr. Huff’s deep commitment to Bremen’s students, his exceptional track record of school leadership, and his dedication to excellence make him the ideal choice to step into this expanded role,” said Superintendent Shannon Christian in a release provided this morning. “His continued presence at Bremen High School during this transitional year ensures strong leadership continuity as we prepare for the next chapter. Bremen High School is an exceptional place, with strong leadership on display by staff members, regardless of title. I’m more excited than ever about the future for BHS, its students, and staff.”

His career spans nearly three decades of service including stints in Lanier County, Turner County and since 2013, at Bremen High School.

Among the areas of improvement seen during his tenure is a four point uptick in the graduation rate from 2013 through 2022, growth in the Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, multiple organizations ranking BHS on a national level, and his own self-improvement through additional degrees. He holds a Doctorate in Education from Valdosta State, where he also earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
