Closures, delayed openings announced ahead of Monday freezing temps

Wet roads and freezing temps mean the chances of icy conditions are high, and local government offices and organizations are closing shop or delaying opening for the day.

Expect highs to only make it barely above freezing on the day and temps will be in the low teens to upper single digits across the county on Monday after lows get well below freezing on Sunday night.

Here’s a list of closures and delayed openings announced so far:

Bremen City Schools will be closed on Monday out of caution for student safety.

The City of Bremen will delay opening on Monday at 10 a.m. Trash pickup is delayed starting to 7 a.m.

The Bremen Public Library will be closed on Monday.

The City of Buchanan announced they’ll be closing city hall for Monday, and extended qualifying for local office in a special election to Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Buchanan-Haralson Public Library will be closed Monday.

Haralson County Government offices are closed on Monday.

Local courts are closed for Monday.

Transformations Christian Counseling Services is closed for Monday.

Haralson County Schools did not post information about closings or delayed opening, nor did the City of Tallapoosa.
