Jeep event continues help for Our House

An adventure on the back roads for a good cause came to a close at the Polk County Fairgrounds on Saturday in Cedartown, with prizes handed out all around as raffle ticket numbers were announced to cap off the Third Annual Jeepin’ for Domestic Violence ride.

The event put on by the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office is a fundraiser that began in 2023 to help Our House Domestic Violence Shelter in Cedartown with their mission of ensuring families can escape the cycle of abuse and give those in need of a safe haven a place to stay temporarily while they rebuild.

This year’s ride took Jeep owners on a trip around the backroads of Haralson and Polk Counties from the Sheriff’s Office onto the Fairgrounds, twisting and turning through areas like Antioch before ending the day drawing for prizes from several area businesses, a Yeti cooler, and three different firearms that were up for grabs.

Many of this year’s participants also kept with a purple theme, supporting Domestic Violence Awareness Month during the month of October.

Dozens took part and enjoyed lunch and fellowship together at the Fairgrounds before taking off on their next adventures for the day.
