Power outages, trees down following early morning stormy weather moving through Haralson

The good news? So far, no major damage has been reported.

However Carroll EMC is reporting that hundreds are without power in multiple outages impacting relatively small numbers of households scattered across Haralson County.

Outages have been reported across the county with around 970+ customers without electrical service at the moment. Crews have been dispatched around the county to patch up lines and restore service amid rainy and cold weather that is still pushing through.

Alongside power outages, an unknown number of trees were also knocked down during storms early this morning.

Rainy weather should start tapering off by the afternoon, but not before temperatures drop significantly through the rest of the day. The high was reached overnight in the 60s for Haralson County, and has since dipped into the 40s as the cold front pushes past Northwest Georgia and brings freezing air behind it.

The chill won’t last for long, as temperatures by the weekend will be back up to seasonal temperatures for the official start of spring on Friday.
