REPORT: Man charged after Friday Hit-and-Run sent three to hospital

Three people were sent to the hospital and a man is in custody after a hit-and-run incident, according to a release from the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office.

Their report stated they arrested Karlton Talbot Todd, 20, of a Bremen address, was in a Ford F-150 when he was accused of forcing another vehicle off the road in what a victim in the incident described as having “pit their truck and it almost flipped over” after encountering them at U.S. Highway 78 and Cashtown Road in Bremen.

Per the report, Todd rammed them after previous incidents, including a “run-in that happened earlier in the week in Carrollton.”

The vehicle that was struck was traveling down backroads in Haralson County prior to the incident when Todd’s truck showed up behind them.

The release noted that Bremen Police got Todd’s truck stopped in the city limits and detained him until HCSO deputies arrived. He declined to provide a statement after he was taken into custody, and was sent onward to jail.

“Personal problems with someone you do not like should never escalate to bodily harm,” stated Sheriff Stacy Williams. “A motor vehicle is considered a deadly weapon, and using it to ram or attack another vehicle is aggravated assault. This young man allowed his emotions to take over and made a horrible decision that could have had catastrophic consequences. Thankfully, no one was killed in this incident. I am asking you, please, if you get upset and angry at someone, do not let your emotions take control, leave the situation or go the other way.”

Todd remained in custody with bond denied on four counts of felony aggravated assault and a misdemeanor for the hit-and-run.
