Tax bills being delayed, should be available in January

The tax man is giving residents in Haralson County some relief this year – but only because they’ve still got some work to do before bills can go out.

Officials from Haralson County shared on Friday that property tax bills for this year are delayed as the appeals process is behind for not only the County, but also local municipalities who charge city taxes, and the Haralson County and Bremen City Schools boards.

Since those appeals are behind and millage rates haven’t been set, those bills remain to be printed and haven’t been sent out yet.

“Once all levying authorities adopt their millage rates, the digest will move forward for final submission, and tax bills will be generated as quickly as possible,” the notice from the County noted.

Tax bills are due 60 days from the time they are sent.

Though no solid date has been noted from Haralson officials, they expect the 2025 bills to go out in early January following the beginning of the new year.
