Fred L. Franks Jr., age 67 of Carrollton, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025.  Born in Asheville, North Carolina, on November 19, 1957, he was the son of the late Fred L Franks, Sr. and the late Eva Jones Franks. In addition to his parents, Freddie is preceded in death by his sister, Michelle Wilson.

An avid outdoorsman, Freddie enjoyed fishing and spending time working in his yard.  Known for his green thumb, he produced beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables.  Watching “The Andy Griffith Show” was one of his favorite indoor activities. A jokester at heart, Freddie enjoyed laughing and making others around him laugh, too.  He was a devoted family man and fiercely loved his family. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Left to cherish his memories is the love of his life, his wife of almost 40 years, Kellie Franks; his children, Seth (Jay Joslin) Franks  and Zachary (Brianna Clark) Franks, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and his sisters, Brenda Leavell, Kay Wilbanks, and Wanda Barnes. Also surviving are his precious grand pups, Zeus, Zena, Roo, Winston, Pluto, Jamie, Gizmo, and Bear,as well as other extended family members and friends..

A celebration of life for Freddie Franks will be conducted Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel in Buchanan.
