Gloria Ann Mann Whitton

Gloria Ann Mann Whitton, age 64 of Bremen, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 6, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Carroll William Mann, Sr. and the late Charlotte McBrayer. In addition to her parents, Glo is preceded in death by her brother Bill Mann.

Glo had a larger than life personality and loved to laugh and talk with everyone. She truly found her calling in working with children. Her love of children was evident during her employment with the Haralson County School System where she held different positions. In her many years there, Glo was always an advocate for the children.

She loved being outdoors and spent many hours in her flower gardens showcasing her green thumb. However, Glo’s greatest passion was spending time with her family. They enjoyed going to the beach together and just loving on one another. Glo also loved her church family at Baptist Tabernacle, as well as her faithful dog, Dansby. Her vibrant, loving personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of almost 44 years, Michael Whitton, Sr; her sons, Joseph Whitton and Michael Whitton, Jr; her grandchildren, Baylor Whitton and Barris Whitton; her sister Pat Mann; her step-brother, Randell & Diane Richardson; her brother-in-law, Wonnie & Janette Whitton; and her sister-in-law, Donna & Tony Vann. Also surviving are several extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 12th, at 5:00 PM from Baptist Tabernacle Church with Rev. Joey Meeks officiating and with David McBrayer, Lindsey Griggs and Angie Whitton Thater giving the eulogies. Glo will be laid to rest at the Poseyville Methodist Church Cemetery with David Whitton, Jamie Griggs, Dusty Carroll, Casey Vann, Tim Thater, and David McBrayer serving as pallbearers.

The Whitton family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel from 5:00 until 8:00 PM and also on Saturday at the church from 4:00 PM until the funeral hour.

The family will accept flowers, but those desiring to make a lasting contribution may donate to Buchanan Primary School in honor of Glo Whitton with all monies going to benefit the children of BPS. Checks may be made payable to Buchanan Primary School and mailed to 271 Van Wert Street, Buchanan, GA 30113, or you may drop the check by the funeral home.

Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is honored to serve the Whitton family.
