Mr. James David “JD” Nale, age 74, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away peacefully in his home on April 15, 2025.
He was born February 25, 1951 in Scottsville, GA to the late Lonnie Franklin Nale and Annie Mae Duncan (Nale) Redding. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Crabb Peugh; stepfather, Joe Redding, Sr.; sisters, Ruth Womack and Margaret Brogdon; and brothers, Robert Nale, Frank Nale, Ricky Nale, and Harold Nale.
JD loved being outdoors, especially if his time was spent fishing. He was a devoted member of Steadman Baptist Church, who loved to help with Vacation Bible School and was always willing to fill in for their preacher when needed. He was a good Christian man and a loving husband to his dear wife, Shirley.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Shirley Owens Nale, of Tallapoosa; son and daughter in law, Darrin and Hannah Nale; stepdaughter and son in law, Janet and Tony Gillespie, of Central, SC; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren with one on the way; sister and brother in law, Anne and Buster Ward, of Homer, GA; and brothers and sisters in law, Larry and Patricia Nale, of Plainville, GA, Lonnie Nale, Joe and Cindy Redding, Jr., and John and Candy Redding, all of Cedartown, GA.
A memorial service will be held at Steadman Baptist Church Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2:00PM with Rev. Randy Robinson officiating and JD’s brothers delivering the eulogy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Steadman Baptist Church PO Box 324 Tallapoosa, GA 30176.
